CICS Approved by MassDEP as Carbon Emissions Verification Body
The Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection (MassDEP) today approved CICS as a MassDEP-recognized Verification Body to provide verification services for the Massachusetts Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Reporting Program.
MassDEP is in the process of reviewing and accepting Facility Reports from all Massachusetts companies required to file reports in the MassDEP module of the Climate Registry Information System (CRIS). Upon completion, those reports will be moved into “Verification in Progress” status and the reporting companies will select a Verification Body through the MA GHG Registry. Verifications for 2010 reports must be completed by the end of this calendar year.
“We are pleased to be able to assist Massachusetts firms with this important effort,” said Kurt Teuscher, president of CICS in the U.S. “CICS is a leading global expert in carbon verification and consultancy. With offices in Houston, TX and in Stoke-on-Trent, UK, we’ve been handling verifications for many years, and have verified the equivalent of over $8 billion of CO2 to date.”

CICS helps organizations in North America and Europe identify, document, and verify their carbon emissions to the appropriate mandated or voluntary carbon reduction programs.
