The UK Environment Agency is the competent authority responsible for regulation of the EUETS in England and Wales.
The Department of Environment is the competent authority responsible for regulation of the EUETS in Northern Ireland.
The Scottish Environmental Protection Agency is the competent authority responsible for regulating the EUETS in Scotland.

UKAS awards CICS accreditation for both GHG verification services and ISO certification services.

ANSI is the body who, in early 2009, awarded CICS their accreditation to verify under the GHG voluntary reporting schemes The Climate Registry (TCR) and The California Climate Action Registry (CCAR). The American National Standards Institute (ANSI) has served in its capacity as administrator and coordinator of the United States private sector voluntary standardization system for more than 90 years.
TCR is a non-profit collaboration among North American states, provinces, territories and Native Sovereign Nations that sets consistent and transparent standards to calculate, verify and publicly report greenhouse gas emissions into a single registry.
