Product Conformity

Independent and rigorous verification of your product standards.

The CICS Shield Mark is an established product conformity mark which has been in use since the late 1980’s.

There are schemes covering:

• Bricks, blocks, roofing tiles
• Chimney linings
• Vitreous china, sanitary ware and associated equipment
• Wall and floor tiles
• Tableware
• Metal release

As an accredited certification organisation and Notified Body under the European Construction Products Directive (1855) we are able to undertake assessments and certification for construction products, verifying product conformity with relevant harmonised standards, and issue Certificates of Factory Production Control.

Road construction products is a recent addition to our product certification service with certification against the requirements of the National Highway Sector Scheme 14 “Quality management of the production of asphalt mixes”.

The Benefits

With the growing need for “responsible sourcing” and “chain of custody”, product conformity and CE marking schemes have a growing part to play in providing evidence that standards have been achieved.

Proof of a responsible approach is fast becoming an important factor in purchasing requirements. Independent product conformity verification and certification is becoming an accepted method of demonstrating achievement against a growing number of standards.

CICS offers independent verification that these standards are being met, through a process of sample selection, independent testing and verification of factory production control.

Regular CICS surveillance of your factory production control and testing of independently selected samples will help and assist you to monitor and improve the effectiveness of both your management system and your processes, improving reliability and overall performance.
